Gripe of the Day- Captcha

Okay- I have pretty good eye sight- actually perfect eyesight if you want to get technical. I have maintained above a 3.0 avg in my college career- people would say that I am analytical, a critical thinker, and I can usually solve my way through problems by reason. But everytime there is something that makes me type in the letters the "Captcha" if you will, I have to enter it 3 or 4 times- it makes me frustrated. What does "captcha even mean, anyways? I know they use it so a virus can't just hack into whatever it is you are doing but even when you click the little handicap button so you can hear the captcha letters out loud it still throws in static and random sounds to throw you off- so really- that doesn't help at all! Does anyone else have this problem with captcha?
