I want a FAN CAN!

Recently- Bud Light has come out with a new campaign- Fan Cans. Fan Cans are designed to kick off the beginning of football and baseball seasons...You can now celebrate watching your favorite college team all decked out you know, hat, jersey, pants, socks, flip flops, ear muffs, face paint, and BUD LIGHT CANS! I have never been a sports fan, really, I mean just to watch the hot sweaty guys but I will sit down with a colorful can of beer to watch a game. Can we get pink Bud Light cans? I asked ChaCha- who apparently didn't have answers for me, where I could get said Bud Light cans.

Cuz' here's the kicker- colleges are ENRAGED about this campaign. They think that Anheuser Busch is supporting UNDERAGE drinking by releasing these cans aimed at fans of college sports teams. Two things should be addressed:
ONE: When people didn't want people drinking, people smuggled moonshine- and so came NasCar (or so I hear). People have been drinking underage since there has been an age given to permit drinking. People will continue drinking and binge drinking for as long as time allows. Hello???? Don't act like you didn't binge drink a time or two before you learned your lesson. Beer goggles, confidence, everything is more attractive- of course young people want these things- life is hard enough as an awkward tween-

I am not supporting underage drinking- but I am not going to act like the color of the can will make underagers drink more or less. Honestly- underagers will drink anything they can get their hands on - usually out of the parent's liquor closet or the cheapest thing at the gas station (remember Madd Dawg?). Colorful cans are for the more educated beer drinkers- I can almost guarantee that most underagers don't even know about this campaign- why? Because like I said before- they just want to get drunk- not know what they are drinking. My concern is more about if the cost of the cans will go up...and/or our failing public school system that could prepare these tweens for the public pressures of binge drinking and drug usage.

Second- Don't more than just underagers watch college football/baseball. Really- I mean the ages could range anywhere from 10 to 99. Notice- A small percentage of that are underage. Kids drink because of friends, parents, and social influence other than ads. Haven't we learned anything about the smoking phenomena?

Anyways- that's my gripe of the day- WTF? CAN'T I JUST PURCHASE A FAN CAN? or 24?
